Educational Trips
If the saying that “One picture is worth a thousand words” is true, then Educational Trips are of inestimable value.
Every student will be provided the opportunity to broaden his/her classroom experiences through field trips.
Our teachers will expose the students to as many places of interest as possible.
Procedures For Taking A Field Trip
- The teacher will send to you a written announcement regarding a proposed trip. All pertinent information will be provided on the form.
- The parent is to sign the form and return it to the teacher.
A pupil cannot leave the school for participation in an excursion without written parental approval.
- All classes will have at least three (3) field trips.
- We invite our parents (wherever possible) to participate in the field trip activity.
- Insurance is required for all students taking trips outside of the city. This added cost must be borne by the parent.
- Our trips are for educational and cultural experiences. The trip destination will relate to a unit or area of study.
As a staff at Nannie Helen Burroughs, we will plan trips that will provide our students with an ever increasing awareness of their neighborhood, community, city and country.
