Greetings.
We extend a cordial welcome to our Nannie Helen Burroughs School Family as we prepare for the school
year. Opening day of school will be a full day of school. Uniforms are required for all students
(grade K thru 6) beginning the first day through the last day of school unless otherwise notified. All students will
meet in the Multi-Purpose Room (Auditorium/lower level) of the school for an opening assembly. Our principal, Mrs. Rita
O. Johnson, will preside.
Prior to opening day, you must take care of all financial obligations and bring in all necessary
forms. It is absolutely imperative that your child is cleared for admission to class prior to the opening assembly.

Once students have gone to their homeroom classes, parents are asked to remain in the auditorium
for a brief orientation conducted by Principal Johnson.We look forward to a smooth opening day, and a wonderful year that
is both spiritually and academically rewarding. Please do not hesitate to call if you have questions or concerns. Please
sign your child in and out of school each day.
