Devotional Procedures

In keeping with the philosophy set forth by the
founder of our school, we begin each day with meaningful devotional period in each classroom. Dr. Burroughs
dubbed her school, “the School of the three B’s” – the Bible, the Bath, and the Broom: clean lives,
clean bodies and clean homes.
Our founder was seriously concerned about the
development of character in each child and wanted the principles of Christianity to be taught by the examples of the teacher.
Therefore, the teacher plays a major role in developing the qualities of leadership and creativity as they inspire
the students to develop their own devotional exercises each morning.
The daily morning
devotions are a very serious part of the Nannie Helen Burroughs program. As Christian teachers in a Christian
environment, we recognize our responsibilities in the area of spiritual growth as well as the intellectual development of
our students. We are responsible for emphasizing the need for Bible reading, meditation, and prayer in
our daily lives as we strive to make the community in which we live a better place.
Chapel
service will be held on the first Friday of each month. We invite you to join us at Chapel.
Each month a grade level will lead the devotions and a local pastor will provide the morning message.
“Train children in the right way,
And
old, they will not stray.
My child give me your heart,
And let your eyes observe my ways.”
Proverbs 22:6; 23:26
